Holy Motors (2012)

I don't get it. Maybe this movie is just too smart for me but I don't get it and don't want to get it. There were some interesting scenes but I just have no interest in trying to interpret this weird movie.

  1. dirty fuckin' bizarre eh?? Even though I got the same sense of not getting it, it still stayed with me. The musical interlude was pretty awesome too. I was just waiting for a story to develop, which never happened.

  2. andrew Yeah man! I mean there were parts that were super intriguing (the whole Eva Mendes segment was awesome) and the lead actor was fascinating to watch but I just kept waiting for it to come together into *something* and then it just ended instead.

  3. dirty I said in my review, if I knew from the beginning that there a story wouldn't develop and I wasn't waiting for it the entire time, I might have enjoyed it more. And the sex scene! The more I look back at it, the more merits I can attribute to it, but I can't shed the overall feeling disappointment I had when the movie ended.

  4. andrew I hear you, I kept a copy of the movie around because even though I can't say I even enjoyed it I do feel like I'm going to end up wanting to watch it again at some point.

  6. andrew Maybe with a "watch at your own risk" disclaimer but I think I'd still recommend many other movies before this one, despite its intriguing weirdness.
