Elysium (2013)

Disappointing in the same way Prometheus was disappointing. Everything looked great -- the robots, the gadgets, the rich people space station -- but a logical, half-way meaningful story? Forget about it. Too much exoskeleton, not enough character development.

  1. ocollet Having District 9 in mind biased our judgements and expectations. It's still a good action movie. There were several 'Woah!' in the audience all along the movie.

  3. dirty Every 8th scene was shot in ultra-slow motion with unbelievably dramatic music. Character development!? There was barely any plot development. They had defined plot points that they just systematically went through to get through them and finish the story. This movie was a piece of shit.
