Captain Phillips (2013)

As expected from Greengrass, Captain Phillips is a fast-paced, well-told, thrill ride. Despite some apparently unfounded heroizing of the Captain character, it's nevertheless a remarkable story with an unsettling conclusion. I suspect this one will stick with me for a while.

  1. jordan Is this worth seeing in the theatres? My knowledge of the historical events are cursory at best, but from what I know, I just can't imagine it being an interesting enough story to bother watching it in movie form.

  2. ross It's not something that *requires* the big screen, but it certainly doesn't hurt. It may be just a hostage story, but I was pretty absorbed by it all.
