Philomena (2013)

On paper this seemed dry and I only watched it because Coogan was in, but the story is truly captivating and Judi Dench is absolutely perfect.

This was a pretty enjoyable watch, but i wouldn't have given it a best pic nod. Still - Coogan is impressive and it was great to see his comedic acumen poking out throughout the otherwise serious story.

Delightful is a great word for this film. I'm amazed at the whole production. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful to watch. Truly moving. Love JD, such details in her performance. Much better than expected. Recommended.

Philomena (2013)

Delightful. This (true) story is remarkable, but the best part of the film is watching Coogan and Dench get to know each other. Some parts are a little predictable, and they focus a little too much on the evil nuns, but the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
