The Witch (2015)

A contemporary 2001: A Space Odyssey for the Millennial generation. An introspection of humanity's eternal desire to pioneer the unknown, however malevolent that may be. Set in the period's tongue, the dialogue is convincing and immersive.

The Witch (2015)

If you can get past the mildly impenetrable puritan era dialog then you will find a deliberately paced, contemplative horror film that is unlike any other modern horror. The closest parallel I can see would be 70's satanism films.
