Bernie (2012)

While I found Bernie's ending a bit underwhelming, I appreciated the measures Linklater took to keep things genuine. Unscripted testimonies from the townspeople were tremendous, but the real icing on the cake was Jack Black who was perfect, perfect, perfect for the role.

Bernie (2012)

Half documentary, half scripted retelling of a true story. Linklater tends to make movies that I don't really find are funny enough to be classified as comedies and this is no different. It's more of a quirky drama. If you go into it with that in mind you should enjoy it.

Bernie (2012)

The cover art is terrible. The title has you thinking about Weekend at Bernie's and Jack Black does something very not Jack Black. The intro is very long but the body gets good, but guess what? I fell asleep and missed the ending...I'd suggest it if you've seen everything else.

Bernie (2012)

This movie was a real unexpected gem that was completely off my radar. The testimonials from the town's folks were a real joy - each community member being so real, genuine, and hilarious. Jack Black was great - funny but not over the top.
