Synopsis:

When former Green Beret John Rambo is harassed by local law enforcement and arrested for vagrancy, the Vietnam vet snaps, runs for the hills and rat-a-tat-tats his way into the action-movie hall of fame. First Blood (1982)

Terribly underrated. More restrained than the sequels, First Blood fittingly doesn't include "Rambo" in its title. It spawned an iconic character, but its story comes first. That doesn't mean it's entirely plausible, but it sticks to its guns with sincerity, and it works.
