La Haine (1995)

Forget about following the French of this funny filthy flick but boy oh boy its black-and-white banlieue brutality bedevils. Ross' review's right-on.

La Haine (1995)

Not a frame is wasted in this powerful and unforgettable film. In crisp black and white, it's almost uncanny how La Haine captures such dark and ugly subject matter so beautifully. The characters are real, the story is skillfully told, and I'm still thinking about the ending.
