Prisoners (2013)

You should see Prisoners. It is an extremely well-plotted and satisfying film. The only thing keeping it in the troposphere is that it isn't *as* well-conceived. A very good twist falls short of greatness because its prosaic foundations fail to support it.

Great thriller with some outstanding performances and a good script. However, for me, it failed to deliver as the plot was quite predictable. Despite that, it's still one of the best films of the year.

Prisoners (2013)

Quebec born Villeneuve's foray into Hollywood. Solidly done. Thoughtful direction and powerful performances, by Jackman in particular. I hadn't seen a good old fashioned thriller like this in long time, and this one certainly had me enthralled the whole way through.
