Synopsis:

An U.S. Spaceship lands on a desolate planet, stranding astronaut Taylor in a world dominated by apes, 2000 years into the future, who use a primitive race of humans for experimentation and sport. Planet of the Apes (1968)

The whole story of Ape Science vs Ape Religion is excellent, the effects are tacky but it really doesn't take much to ignore. Some of Heston's facials were hilarious and man, those Apes are piss poor with a net.
