The Lincoln Lawyer (2011)

Standard thriller combining court drama and the search for a serial killer. I enjoyed the book much more, but was very surprised at how respectful to the book, this cinematic adaptation was.

There are few things that stand out about The Lincoln Lawyer, but one thing that does is McConaughey. He may be known best for fluffy rom-coms, but here he delivers a surprisingly committed performance that elevates an otherwise ordinary drama into something entirely watchable.

Any Movie + Matthew McConaughey = Crap

Sort of like a less dour Grisham adaptation, this legal thriller was a little more reliant on charm and typical mystery elements than the standard legal thriller. Gotta give it up to McConaughey for not just coasting like he seems to so often.
