Her (2013)

Setting was super charming and inspiring, if only subtly distinguishable from present day. Phoenix, Adams and Johansson all provide terrific performances. Yet another fine example of the old AI-as-human-nature chestnut.

Her (2013)

How great is Joaquin in this? Really great. Original story, subtle yet effective set and costume design, incredible performance from my man JP and, for the first time in my movie going experience, Scarlett Johansson acts well enough that I didn't find her a distraction. Watch it.

Her (2013)

This was so bad I don’t even know where to begin. The entire plot is ridiculous; the characters are even worse. It says nothing new about relationships I haven't heard (or seen) before. Everything about the concept should be interesting, but it's actually boring.

Her (2013)

Worthy of all the praise. It was remarked to me that it's more relatable for men to fantasize about falling in love with OS than it it is for women. Jonze's subtle, futuristic backdrop was awesome, but the unique relationship was the center of what made the film work.

Her (2013)

A real emotional odyssey. My thoughts on Her are a jumbled mess, but Jonze always has that effect on me. What matters is that I was captivated from start to finish and while at times this read like an iPhone commercial, I still came out of it feeling six feet off the ground.

Her (2013)

One thing found strangely absent from this film is quotable lines. Lacking legacy in its writing doesn't seem to take away from it though. It just feels genuine, no outrageous emotions, but the subdued true-to-life ones. Also Joaquin subtly nails the shit out of every scene.
